How To Measure For Dog Boots
You wouldn’t want to stick your size 10 foot in a size 8 shoe because it’d be incredibly uncomfortable. The same goes for your dog, which is why we’re here to help you measure your dog’s foot to ensure a comfortable fitting boot.

To measure the width of your dog’s foot, place the foot on a piece of paper and press down on the top of the foot, mimicking how the foot spreads when the dog’s walking.

Mark the left and the right side of the widest point of the foot on the paper and measure the distance between the marks. Compare this to the boot sizes.
The width of the foot should be smaller than the boot size. For example, if the foot width is 1 1/2 inches, order an XSmall at 1 3/4 inches.

*Unfortunately, there isn't a perfect solution for dogs that drag their feet. We haven't found a material that will stand up to constant dragging and still be comfortable for the dog. Some customers use the boots and then apply Shoe Goo as wear appears. You may also coat the top and toe of the boot prior to wearing with Shoe Goo to prolong the life of the boot for a dog that drags the paw.

"Mojo hurt his paw, because he likes alley walks, it would not heal. It is not an option for him to not go on walks so we had to do something. The Ultra Paws has saved his feet. I love them and tell everyone I see about them. I highly recommend them."

"Thank you for your promptness in exchanging my first order for these boots; they are perfect. They stay on my sheltie's ankles really well and that has been a problem before with other shoes. Thank you for your professional manner in handling my complicated order. I will order some things again for my sheltie, Devon Grey.

"Durable and easy to get onto my dog's feet. Not so easy for her to get them off. Exactly what I was looking for!"

"I have a 14 year old lab mix who had a ruptured disk 3 years ago leaving him with a slight drag of his back feet causing him to tear up his nails. This is the 3rd type of bootie I've tried and unfortunately they are already falling apart (2 weeks later). The idea is great (a harder rubber-like surface on the bottom AND top unlike most others which is why I got these). The problem is the seam where the 2 meet is right at the front point of the foot where most dogs make contact when dragging the feet so they they are literally 'coming apart at the seam'. Perhaps if it was just a single piece of material wrapping from bottom to top they would last longer."

"Boots top was to large to stay on Daisy's leg. Boots are made great! I was hoping for a softer boot. I really like the jell stuff around the top of the boot, it's good for the pets legs and helps to hold boot on. ---- Do you have a softer boot with the gell around the top, that's just a little smaller then these boot? "I just purchased another set of the Ultra Paws Rugged Boots because they work very well for my dog diagnosed with DM. He "knuckles" which causes his toenials to bleed when we walk outside; and inside, his hind legs often slipped from under him on our hardwood floors. These boot gave him back a sense of dignity. No more bleeding toenails and no more slipping. The only drawback is that I find myself using Shoe Goo to reapair the toes alot. But I've done my homework and joined DM support groups and find this is the case w/any bootie. "

"These boots look sturdy, unfortunately my pet did not use them very much due his loss of walking. I do like their build and a plus that they have two straps and a foam inside where the straps are place. This prevents from the straps from being over tighten and cutting off circulation."

"We were impressed at the quality of these boots. Molly has been wearing the Traction Boots inside, so we thought these would be great for her to wear on her walks. "

"The sizing seems to run small. I ordered based upon measurements. The boots are very thick and well made, but really difficult to get on her feet because they don\'t open up very far to allow the paw to slide in."

"These boot are terrific. They\'re easy to get on and stayed on our energetic dogs paws for two hours as we hiked over ice and snow - without requiring any adjustment. Also, there were no cuts or wear marks in the boots and, consequently, no cuts in Brownie\'s paws. I was very happy with your price as well."

"Working great for my 13 yr. old arthritic dog! Due to arthritis pain he began walking differently, putting pressure on the nails of his hind paws and causing them to bleed every time we went for a walk. Walking had shaved his nails down to the quick, the poor old guy :( With these on he doesn\'t ever miss out on his nightly walk. He was a foot-dragger even before I put the boots on him and I\'m surprised they\'re as durable as they are. There are only small holes so far near the seam which I think may be partly due to a couple of longer nails that need to be clipped. He took to wearing them on his hind paws right away. (He doesn\'t really need the front ones unless he\'s somewhere slippery). The one or two times I did put all four on at the same time he kept tripping. So I just leave the front bare now and if he needs them later then we\'ll have to go out and practice! Will definitely purchase more when these wear out and will try the shoe goo next time too!"

"pretty good product with a secure fit. my doggie is dragging his feet as well and has quickly worn holes even in this thick sole. the manufacturer sells \" polyurethane-based adhesive and sealant that easily and permanently repairs tears or holes in your boots\". seniorpetproducts may want to add this product."

"I\'ve just received our second set of Ultra Paws Rugged Boots. Our dog has degenerative myelopathy, which causes her to knuckle and drag her back feet. These boots have been the best ones we\'ve tried for that problem. They fit well — no twisting. And they last for a very long time, unlike other boots we tried. Plus they are the least expensive ones I know about!

I\'m thrilled to find this help to make our pup\'s life a little easier."

"I have used the All Purpose Shoe for my Lab for over 5 years, all day, every day for bad hips, but holes wear into the soles much too fast, so finally tried the Ultra Paws Rugged Boots. Need to be longer up the leg like the All Purpose shoe. Very difficult to get on and doesn't have the traction needed. If the mfg. would just make the All Purpose zShoe's sole out of a thicker, more durable rubber it would be the perfect shoe. Would not recommend the Ultra Paws Rugged Boots."

"The boots work fine! Murphy did some hi steps at first but found out they didn't interfere with his John Wayne sashay walk! The boots go on easy enough but the lower tab needs to be lengthened (the tab with the logo). The boots seem to wear well on cement and roadways"

"The ultra paws worked great. The fit guide was right on the money. The shoes we ordered from another company were the wrong size and kept coming off. These are more durable and worked great on the limestone rocks at the creek. They will also be better for hunting. No more $85.00 vet bills to fix the cuts on Sadies feet."
