How To Measure For Dog Boots
You wouldn’t want to stick your size 10 foot in a size 8 shoe because it’d be incredibly uncomfortable. The same goes for your dog, which is why we’re here to help you measure your dog’s foot to ensure a comfortable fitting boot.

To measure the width of your dog’s foot, place the foot on a piece of paper and press down on the top of the foot, mimicking how the foot spreads when the dog’s walking.

Mark the left and the right side of the foot on the paper and measure the distance between the marks. Compare this to the boot sizes.
The width of the foot should be smaller than the boot size. For example, if the foot width is 1 1/2 inches, order an XSmall at 1 3/4 inches.

I have used the All Purpose Shoe for my Lab for over 5 years, all day, every day for bad hips, but holes wear into the soles much too fast, so finally tried the Ultra Paws Rugged Boots. Need to be longer up the leg like the All Purpose shoe. Very difficult to get on and doesn't have the traction needed. If the mfg. would just make the All Purpose zShoe's sole out of a thicker, more durable rubber it would be the perfect shoe. Would not recommend the Ultra Paws Rugged Boots.

The Ultra Paws Rugged Boots are really well made and are wearing well. I have purchased two sets small & medium. The smalls were too small for my nearly 60lb dogs and the mediums a little too roomie so the pups have to wear them with baby tube-socks which is fine because the dogs paws sweat in these black boots. I love these boots, they are easy to put on, they stay on, and they have truly protected my dogs feet from our hot & dry, rugged, high desert terrain. And you get four shoes for one reasonable price. A great buy.

These are working great for our dog "Cutty". He is a 7 year old German Shepherd with Degenerative Myelopathy so his back legs don't work too well. He was dragging his back feet so bad he was hurting himself. With the boots his feet are protected.

Well, considering that your order form was set at a default of size small, and I didn't double check it and change the size to large which is what I wanted, and I didn't even notice it was the wrong size till she'd worn the one boot for a day... though I did think it seemed awfully tight....
I'm not sure how to rate this... I notice that your rating is set at a default of 5.0...
I'm not sure how the right size would work, since Olivia drags her foot, and she needs traction on the top of the boot.
I think the boots are well constructed, but I'd have to try to add some sort of traction to whatever boot I get.

The Ultra Rugged Boots are extremely well made. They stay on. A really nice feature are the soft rubber pads that provide extra cushioning for sensitive joint tendons in the back of the paws. I bought small for Darby who is just under 60lbs, and is a Doberman/Australian Shepard mix. She has long narrow feet and I'm not sure this size sits high enough on her paw. Consequently one of the Velcro straps secures directly across her dewclaw. I think I will try the medium size but am a little concerned about the width, she might look like a platypus. Still, these are the best made boots that I have found and at the best price for all four. They are also rugged enough for the high desert terrain in New Mexico. I am very pleased.
