still usable after chewing damage, 3/28/2011

emr from S. Calif.

My 11-year-old Golden mix has eaten part of his breakfast out of it for more than 6 years. A couple of years ago a Pit foster got hold of it and made the hole WAY bigger. I adapted it by inserting a big rawhide knot (Smiley doesn't like rawhide), dropping the kibble and apple pieces around it, and topping them with a chunk of snout or ear (doesn't like them either). He's able to do more than just roll it; he now can pick it up and toss/drop it until everything is dislodged. It's his favorite food toy, and Jerry's chewing made it even better!

He made his own openings., 3/2/2011

Trish G from Dallas, TX

First day with the toy, he cornered it and chewed the corners open. Even if that hadn't happened, the opening was so big, all the treats would fall out. Paid WAY to much for very little enjoyment.

Dog's favorite!, 2/23/2011

pamazon from Eastern WA

I had the med sized one for my mini-dachshund. Bought a larger cube toy (same idea) for my lab.....they both "fight" over the atomic ball. Durability wise, this toy is great when used as it is intended....which is NOT a chew toy...I would recommend this as a must have for any dog owner!

works well for what it was intended, 12/5/2010

scruffy dog photography from Kitchener, Ontario

the previous review might imply that this doesn't make a good chew toy. well, it's not a chew toy ... it's a puzzle toy, although my wirehaired pointer gave it a good go with her strong jaws and it held up fine. of course, she was monitored. this toy is intended to be pushed and tumbled, not chewed. if you have a chewer, i wouldn't recommend this toy. if you have a dog that is willing to figure things out, the Atomic Treat Ball is a great toy/exercise. my puppy-mill rescue guy loves his: http://www.flickr.com/photos/illonahaus/5234635140/ we give this toy four paws up.

Not for powerful chewers, 6/15/2010

happypitbull from

I purchased this for my 16 month old pitbull mix, and he chewed it up within 30 mins. I idea behind this toy is good, but the material isn't sturdy for heavy chewers. I'd recommend Nyla and Kong products instead.
