This is THE Place to Buy Greenies, the Best Treats, 3/4/2013

BEST TREAT FOR MY BEST FRIENDS from Crestwood, KY

Not only do my 4 little lappy yappies love, LOVE greenies, but dog.com is the best place to buy them. I was in a well known pet chain store today, and the price on them there almost made me fall over! I always buy 6 boxes of the large panty pack at a time from dog.com. Today I ordered 7 because I went to restock and discovered I was actually out! YIKES! But that's ok, I know my order will arrive quickly from dog.com. Greenies are great for their teeth, their breath, a great treat, they all enjoy them, they know what the word "Greenie" means, and they come running when they hear it. In addition, with a newly diagnosed diabetic dog, the vet said even she was just fine to continue on greenies safely. If her blood sugars get low, give her an extra one, which is just fine with her. Thank goodness for Greenies!

Perkins Family from Minneapolis, MN

Well yes the dogs love them, but as far as tooth cleaning goes, forget about it. These never really were for cleaning teeth, breath help yes. The dogs like the new as well as the old. I have started the look for a better option, teeth cleaning is the priority for us now.

Greenies are Great!, 3/14/2010

Nichole Lundberg from

We tried Greenies on a recommendation from our veterinarian. Our dog absolutely loves them (especially stuffed in a Kong)! Everyone keeps saying that they're so expensive, but I think the price listed here on Dog.com is the most reasonable I've come across. At the vet/pet store we pay $1 for just ONE Teenie Greenie. I'm thrilled that I can buy almost 100 Greenies for around $25. My dog and I are VERY satisfied customers!

Greenies the best, 12/20/2009

shirley martin from santa rosa ca.

my dog cha cha is three years old and her Vet states she has the teeth and gum's of a 1year old dog. He couldn't get over how clean her mouth is. Cha Cha loves to sleep first thing when she gets up its outside potty and next greenie brush her teeth time. At the end of the day she get's her brush your teeth greenie. Cha Cha loves this treat that is so good for her and her dental health is excellent. Dog.Com is the best price ever. It's the only place I shop for Cha Cha and I have checked all the prices. Also get her flea control from Dog.com. very satisfied customer.

I have to agree with most of the people who wrote reviews on the Greenies. They are expensive but I still buy them for my German Shepherd pup's dental hygiene. She loves to "brush her teeth" by eating a Greenie and they keep her teeth sparkling white.

#1 Special Treat - Greenies!!!, 9/25/2009

Sandee Flannigan from Des Plaines, IL

Our doberman, Max, will drop any toy or item at the mention of "Do you want a Greenie?" Absolutely LOVES them. He eats one daily, tucked in side his tough "treat ball". (Just fits in the holes from side to side and keeps him busy for a short bit.) HIGHLY recomended by Max. He does have the cleanest teeth & fresh breath. A must for your special friend!

Greenies addictive!, 9/23/2009

Mary from Creswell, OR

You must have caffeine, marijuana, or something in those greenies! LOL. All dogs seem to get addicted to them. It is too bad you don't really reduce your price. I see your ads, big sale on greenies but when I check into it they are still the same price. Best deal is to buy 6 at a time. You are still the least expensive place to buy them!

Our dogs favorite but they need to get a job. :), 8/17/2009

Zac & Peanuts Mom from Omaha, NE

Our dogs just go nuts over thier Greenies and we love to see them get so excited when they hear the Greenies canister open. We have had to cut the kids back to only giving them Greenies on our days off and on the weekends to keep Greenies in the budget. We have told them if the price keeps going up they need to get jobs to afford thier Greenie habit. :)

She won't eat any other treat. They are costing too much and we may have to cut her to one every three days. Great product but toooo expensive.

I had to chuckle at the review given by the Nutro rep.. My many dogs are now greenie free due to the outrageous pricing. I do not skimp on supplies for my dogs but I will not order any product that is not a reasonable price. Supply and DEMAND should let Mars know that people are not happy with them. (Will they care? Greenies are great, 7/29/2009

Lori D from Ellsworth, WI

Greenies are a great product, my dog absolutely adores them, however, I can get them for far less at my local farm supply store and I can still get the Monster Pak with 30 regular sized pcs in it. I received an email from Dog.com regarding their sale on Greenies and had to check out the pricing. I'll be sticking to my local store. And I agree with everyone else, Nutro brand dog food is NOT the best on the planet!! Her comment to not quibble over a few dollars and save our dogs from death and disease by using Greenies??!! She needs to get real and realize that no dog NEEDS Greenies to keep their fangs pearly white, we can do that by simply brushing their teeth and allowing them to chew on properly sterilized bones!! We don't NEED no stinking Greedy Greenies!! I've tried Nutro products, my dog turned her nose up at their food! Okay, enough of my whining. Yes, Greenies are Great!

BarryMarkson from tucson, Arizona

I have three dogs and I need lots of supplies especially Greenies in bulk 12 at a time, essential for healthy teeth and good breath when most others are charging $39.00 (in July 2009) per a 17 box, Dog.com comes to the rescue again with a doable price of only $21.49 a box! With the Greenie price now set ONLY for the wealthy, Price charged me becomes essential! I use to surf the net for an hour looking for the discount of at least a couple of dollars, and I always went back to Dog.com to buy Greenies and other things too and saved a lot of money! Now I don't waste my time, it's Dog.com right-a-way for this chronic internet surfer! Dr. Barry Markson Tucson, Arizona

Marv from hartwell, Ga

I use to be able to stock up on Greenies when they were on sale, but now the "sale prices" are out of reach, and the quantity of Greenies is down, which makes no sense. There's no way these treats have to be so overpriced!!! It's just plain unmitigated GREED! Sorry, but we have switched to less "bank-rupting" products that our canine likes as well as his old favorite, Greenie. Too bad!!

Oh those poor Beagles.... , 6/24/2009

Cindy from Minneapolis

Oh the poor beagles, furever sentanced to a life without greenies. Over here at House of Pug we struggle with the same decision. After all, they are our after dinner "cigars". But the decrease in quantity (sneaky), and the increase in prices have made it next to impossible. The only way we could afford them was buying them on sites like this-- heaven forbid you pay the prices the pet stores charge!! So Kudo's to our online friends, and sad tears of disappointment from those Beagles and soon to be pugs. Perhaps the company should listen to it's most loyal customers-- they may have no "voice", but their owners do.

Sorry Boys, 6/24/2009

Beth from Minneapolis MN

Sorry, boys, your days of Greenies are at an end. The cost has skyrocketed -- and this has occurred well after the take over by Nutro. (Sorry, rep, but the greatest cost increase + quantity decrease has been in the last 9 months.) The beagles keep asking for them, but unless they're going to join the beagle brigade to make some $$$ they're out of luck.

Greenies by a new owner, 6/17/2009

Ava Clark from tallahassee, fl

I was readying all of you reviews and you concern about the price. I wwanted to shead some knowledge about why the price has been fluctuating. Greenies was recently purchased by Nutro, which is factually the best dog food company on the planet and the only company that can prove it through research. Nutro is owned by Mars, as in M&M, etc. Greenies have been completely redesigned to be healthier and safer for you dog. You are getting what you pay for. This is one product that you are not trowing money away with. I am a representative for the Nutro brand and very involved and up to date on all facts So dont quivel over a few dollars, save your pet by protecting them from gum disease and other diseases cause from plaque .

Greenies almost cheaper at Pet-Smart & Petco, 5/30/2009

J.R.Fox from Amarillo TX

I have been buying Greenies for my babies for a long long time. Last October I bought 10 boxes for $19.99 and got 30 in a box. The next time I bought them I bought 10 boxes at $21.99 and only got 27 in a box. I'm sure the gas price has had some effect on the price but the shipping companies add a fuel surcharge to the shipping (offsets gas cost). This time I am considering buying only 5 boxes, but am afraid the price will go up again. Dog.com is slowly and surely matching Pet-Smart and Petco prices. I no longe see the benefit. Dog.com reads the reviews but, like many companies, chooses to ignore them. Thanks for the forum

Shrinkage has made Greenies Unaffordable, 5/28/2009

Joe P. from Dayton, OH

As stated in many of the other reviews; the shrinkage in box quantity of Greenies and increases in price have put Greenies in the unaffordable category for dog treats. I have been a regular customer for many years; but will now delay future purchases until the price / quantity value resumes.

Greenies No Longer Affordable, 5/27/2009

YosiH from Rhode Island

A good product, without doubt, but the price has become unaffordable. And as smart shoppers, we know that downsizing the quantity in the box is just a silly scheme that makes the manufacturer look more foolish than the customers he's trying to fool. Downsizing the PRICE might ultimately be in his best interest!

Greenies Price Hike Hard to Swallow, 4/29/2009

Becky from MD

I feel compelled to add my $0.02 to the price hike discussion. These are by far some of the most expensive "treats" on the market to begin with. And a 10% price hike will be very hard for some people to absorb. I, too, hope that some reconsideration will be given to the increased price in general, and to reinstating the quantity discount for 4 pkgs, rather than the current 6. particular

Watch Expiration Date , 4/25/2009

B H from VA

Greenies are supposed to have a 12 month shelf life. I previously bought 6 boxes here and all had expiration dates 8 months vs. 12. This is not a big deal unless you buy in bulk.

Greenies are Too Expensive, 4/22/2009

disgruntled from disgruntled, usa

I agree with Jeanne from Coral Springs. Bring back the deal where if you purchase multiple boxes, it takes the price down to approximately 19.99 per box. After all, you've already reduced the number of treats per box.

Price increase is too high, 4/20/2009

Jeanne from Coral Springs

My dog LOVES his Greenies but I don't think I can afford them anymore. I use to purchase for $18.99 or $19.99 by purchasing 6 boxes at a time. The price increase is more than justified.I could understand going up a little due to the increase in gas prices but prices have gone down & I think the price should go down. A lot of prices allover went up due to gas prices as an excuse but never went down again when prices went down. I hope DOG.COM actually reads these reviews & listens to all the people who have said the same as me. Your business will increase dramatically if you give us a price break. At the least have a sale once in a while!!

WHY are the Greenies getting sooo EXPENSIVE???, 3/25/2009

Carlos from Sequim, WA

My dog goes nuts for Greenies! Just alone all the customers I got for dog.com make me wonder if these price increases for a SMALLER box are really justified?! My trust in TINA at dog.com keeps me getting back... it is not FAIR if companies go for maximum profit, there still has to be COMPASSION out there, especially since we are talking about our LOVE FOR DOGS here!

Getting to be expensive treat, 3/16/2009

Mary Kirkpatrick from Creswell, OR

My dogs (3) love greenies but I think they will be getting them less often as the count per box is down & the price is up. With a poor economy people are having to cut back on unecessary things; please reconsider your higher pricing.

The Price Just Keep Going Up, 3/4/2009

Joan from Florida

My German Shepherd, Bailey, just loves his greenies and looks forward to getting one every day after dinner. Unfortunately you are raising your prices out of the market. I love my Bailey and will do anything that makes him happy. Your sales will go down if the prices keep going up.

The Price Is Just Outrageous!, 2/23/2009

Derice from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

My pups - 3 miniature dachshunds and an Irish Setter - absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Greenies! I enjoy giving them these special treats, and believe that they are beneficial for their teeth, gums, and breath. HOWEVER, I will not be purchasing any more Greenies because the price is simply TOO HIGH! I'm looking for other good treats, and breaking out the toothbrushes... Too bad..

Greenies, 2/20/2009

JA from Kansas City, MO

My dogs love Greenies.. However, it bothers me that they continue to raise the price while lowering the count in the box. It used to be 50 count in treat pack, and now it's 45. The cost was $21 for 50 and now it is $27 for 45 bones... Unfortunately for my dogs, if the company continues to do this, I will have to look for another treat for my pets. I wonder if they think people don't notice that they keep the same packaging but put less product in the box, while rasing the price... it's a bit insulting.

No Sale Price, 2/18/2009

Yukon Blue from Alaska

In January 2009 I purchased 6 boxes of Greenie Large (17 per box) to get a discount. The price was $20.92 - looks like the "sale" price is now $23.99 - to me that is false advertizing. Maybe it's time to shop around.

Rich Man's Treat, 2/18/2009

Paula from Fairbanks, AK

My dogs love these, but they should rename them "Rich Man's Treat". I buy 6 big boxes at at time. Last April I paid $19.99 ea. In December, I paid $20.92, and now I would have to pay $23.99? Don't think so. Out comes the toothbrushes. They're cheap.

Its getting Difficult to Feed Thier Habit, 2/18/2009

Christine from Washington, D.C.

My 2 German Shedders love Greenies. Unfortunately the prices have risen and its getting harder to purchase them. My gurrls look for them every night. Its a ritual. I hide the Greenies then they go hunting for them. I do buy 4 or 5 boxes at a time. It would be lovely of dog.com had a frequent buyer plan with discounts for regular purchases.

Short-changed?, 2/1/2009

patty from rochester, nh

My dogs love their greenies and I will continue to buy them. It does seem pretty cheesy to drop the number and increase the price, but that's the country we now live in. Also I wish you'd keep the teenie size in stock. It's getting sort of ridiculous.

Pay More; Get Less, 1/29/2009

Karen Spiess from Pilot Hill, CA

I agree with the gentleman that wrote to express his frustration about the decrease in the number of Greenies per box. I buy regular size which went from 30 per box to 27 the last time I ordered; the price did seem to edge up a bit. Seems to be the trend these days. Just wanted to note that it does not go unnoticed. Also went to use a $10 "appreciation" gift certificate from this site and was surprised again to find that it was not honored if usd it to purchase Greenies. I wrote but received no answer back from the site. I am a regular customer and do appreciate the free shipping. I am a shopper, however, and will keep looking.

Both my dogs love greenies and buying them in bulk saves me a little money which is nice. Zoii loves the regular and Smokey really likes the petites. Its pretty much all they eat.

Cost, 1/17/2009

John from Waterboro, ME

I buy 5 boxes of regular greenies about every 5 months. I was a little upset to learn that the box amount was changed from 30 pieces to 27 and the price was increased.

The greatest !!, 1/12/2009

Cheri and Michael from Santa Cruz, CA

Michael watches the clock, I know it ! She knows when it's time for her greenie. We can't even say the word or spell it ! Michael is a Great Dane, so I generally buy enough that I don't pay shipping. Good thing !! She is 9 1/2 years old and has yet the need for her teeth to be cleaned. I owe it to brushing, greenies, and good food. Good job Greenie people. Thanks. Cheri Hardt and Michael

our favorite treat, 11/1/2008

I have been giving greenies to my dogs for years. They are the favorite of my dogs. My dog knows which cabinet the greenies are in and stands in front of it when it is treat time. Great product.

Great Product Overall, 10/31/2008

Connie from Ada

Our dog loves Greenies and they do help keep his breath fresh (along with brushing). I agree with the previous reviewer though...it's getting to be an expensive habbit, the price has steadily increased since I first started purchasing them. That said, however, that seems to be everything, everywhere. The latest "trick" by the industries is to make the package smaller and the price higher. I don't hold dog.com accountable for this phenomenon. My shopping experiences with them thus far have always been positive, and they still have the best price on the web...and I have looked around a lot. If you include the free shipping, their price is hard to beat!

Higher Price & Less Greenies, 10/5/2008

Zac & Peanut's mom from Omaha, NE

I guess the economy is catching up with the makers of Greenies now as well. Too bad my boys like them so much, they may have to get a daytime job to afford thier Greenie habit. :) I just got them 6 boxes in August for $19.99 each for 30 count regular, now they are $20.92 but you only get 27 in each box. Dog.com has the best price I can find on the web and the free shipping helps wtih the price increase.
